| Publisher - Neil Hernandez - Neil Hernandez is a Lane Tech class of 1988 grad where he ran track for 4 years and cross country for 3 years. The track and cross country teams he participated in won at least 5 city championships. He also played on Lane Tech's chess team that took 2nd in the state in 1988 - losing only to state champion Kenwood in the final round. Neil has a bachelors of science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago and lives in Winnetka, IL. Neil has had his writings, videos and or photos appear on DyeStatIL (owned by ESPN), IHSFW.com, Illinois.Scout.com (owned by FoxSports), PioneerLocal.com (member of the Sun-Times News Group) and writes in the Brick Battlefield Blog, Cross Town Concierge Blog, and the Neilski Blog. Also, the Chicago Tribune has linked Neil's Chicago Public League's Sports Blog to their Track and Field Preps Plus Page. Neil also was a co-presenter on the topic of new media in the 2009 Chicago Public League Track and Field Coaches Association clinic. He is a true high school sports expert, but when it comes to baseball he is a Cubs fan. | ||||||||||
| Advisor - George Novak - George Novak is a graduate of Gordon Technical High School. He serves in the capacity of advisor and mentor for CPS Fan. George is a true entrepreneur having founded several businesses from such varied insutries as real estate investing, courier, and retail video. George lives in Bolingbrook, IL. He loves to fish and leave people with a smile on their face. CPSFan Volunteer Blogger - Jonathan Kamel (Payton College Prep) - I am a sophomore at Walter Payton College Prep and I enjoy writing, running, watching the cubs, and spending time with friends and family. I have lived in Chicago my entire life and went to Lincoln Elementary before Payton, where I began running cross country in 7th grade. In addition to cross country, I play the piano and student-teach at the Anshe Emet religious school. I am excited for the upcoming cross country season and the chance to improve from my previous year. |
